Rauris, in Austria, is a medium sized ski resort with 8 ski lifts (2 gondolas, 1 chair lift and 5 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1261 metres (4137 feet) of vertical descent. Rauris has 13 pistes with a total length of 20 kilometers. Rauris is only really suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. There are 30 kilometers (19 miles) of cross country ski trails at Rauris. A small proportion of the pistes at Rauris are covered by snowmaking. The closest airport is at Salzburg and the transfer time is only 1 hours. The nearest train station to Rauris is at Taxenbach. There is accommodation located close to the pistes but we would welcome additional information about any hotels or chalets in Rauris.

Second time I have been to Rauris. Would come again. Snow conditions are always good and pistes well looked after. Ski school Maier are very good. If you want to improve your skiing then you will not go wrong coming here. If you want to party then this is not the place for you it is a very friendly family resort. There are some nice restaurants and bars. Austrian hospitality is the best and this year I travelled with Heidi Holidays very impressed and stayed at Hotel Birkof (very nice).
