Morgins, a Swiss ski resort, is a popular destination for hikers in summer while in winter it is part of the mega-sized cross-border skiing area of the "Portes du Soleil" 12 resorts and two countries which can never be skied out in just one holiday. Located ins the Chablais region wich offers magnificent scenery with the towering Dents-du-Midi, alpine meadows and countless mountain lakes. The real secret of Morgins is the skiing around the Corbeau, and Follieuse areas (one lift, north facing, great snow and lots of secret powder stashes in the right weather and it holds its snow 'until very late despite it's altitude). When you add all that to short transfers from Geneva, quiet characteristic pubs and a few good restaurants Morgins is a winner for those seeking to escape the crowds and still chase big mountain, big area skiing. Saturday 8th December :“C'est l'Hiver” Morgins Ski & Festival- Concert at the Jeur village hall.
Friday 21st-22nd December: Night Dog Sleigh Compétition.
Saturday 22nd December: Morgins Toupins ceremony (winter solstice ceremony).
Friday 28th December :Ski trekking (seal skins) timed race up the Foilleuse.
Thursday 27th December :Theater Night at the Jeur village hall.
Monday 31st December : Torchlight descent by Swiss Ski & Snowboard School and firework display
Saturday 5th January : Morgins Snowbike - snow MTB competition.
Saturday 12nd January: Morgins Yannick Ecoeur Trophy - ski touring race competition in the honour of our ski-touring Champion Yannick Ecoeur.
Sunday 20th January : Morgins Snow Day - a day to the snow (free ski lessons, free rent and free access to thr Geant ski area).
Saturday 2nd February: Les Echos du C'est l'Hiver Morgins Festival.
Tuesday 12nd February : Children's Carnival.
Thursday 14th February : St Valentin evening.
Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th : Morgins T-Bar Free Session. Freeride competion on different mountain facing around Morgins.
Saturday 2nd March : Rallye du Goût : tasting local products during a floodlit walk along the They Valley.
Wednesday 20th - Sunday 24th March: Rock the Pistes Festival. Free concerts on the ski slopes of the Portes du Soleil. Free access with your ski pass, you just need your ski pass to join the concert. Concerts with : BB Brunes, Skip the Use,Caravan Palace, Superbus, Cali.
Saturday 30th March:Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny.
Champions Festival at the Jeur village hall.
Sunday 31st March:Easter - Aperitif concert by Morgins «Helvétienne brass band".
Saturday 13th April: 6th Chô Rock Festival at the Yeü Tsalé Restaurant.

What a brilliant place. If you want a small family friendly village with ski-in ski-out, several nice bars and restaurants, 650km of slopes, great ski schools and kit hire, not too expensive, loads of nice chalets to rent and just 90 mins from Geneva airport this place is for you! If you want loud brash stag and hen party central then i’d go elsewhere.
