Chiesa, in Italy (in the Lombardia region), is a large resort with 12 lifts (8 chair lifts, 2 surface lifts) that offers skiers an incredible 1336 metres (4383 feet) of vertical descent. Chiesa has 29 pistes with a total length of 50 kilometers (31 miles). Chiesa is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 37 kilometers (23 miles) of cross-country ski trails at Chiesa. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half-pipe. A small proportion of the pistes at Chiesa are covered by snow-making. The closest airport is at Milan / Milano but the transfer time is 2 hours. The nearest train station to Chiesa is at Sondrio.

I have been gong to Chiesa for around 14 years now and have seen many changes. The resort is a small village, nestling in the mountains and is not a party place - it's real Italy!
The runs are picturesque, wide and varying in difficulty. The blacks are not overly long or challenging and in the height of season, it's still not the busiest of places. The locals are truly friendly.
The trip from Bergamo is easy by train, costs less than 20 Euros return and takes less than 2 hours.
