Chapa Verde in Chile (in the Central region) is a small ski resort with just 4 ski lifts (1 chair lifts 3 surface lifts) but it does boast a very impressive 625 metres (2051 feet) of vertical descent. Chapa Verde has 14 pistes. Chapa Verde is best suited for intermediate skiers and snowboarders but there is a also a lot of terrain for beginners and experts too. Quiero aclarar que la carretera de acceso es privada desde el control de Maitenes (unos 25 kmt antes de Chapa Verde), porque es además el acceso a la principal mina de cobre subterránea del mundo, siendo la más segura y en mejor estado del país. Esto no sucede en otros centros de esquí del país, donde rige "la ley de la selva" en la carretera.
